Hi, I’m Jeffrey Hill — the person behind every stone, every slab, and every package that leaves SilverHill Lapidary.
I’ve spent two decades doing what I love — mining, field collecting, slabbing rock, cutting cabochons, and exploring the kind of places most people never think to look. That hands-on relationship with material from the ground up is what drives everything I do here. I don’t sell anything I wouldn’t use myself.
About four years ago I took that foundation and pushed it into precision gem cutting. Fantasy cuts, concave cuts, highly detailed custom designs — almost every cut I produce is an original design, not a pattern from a book. In 3.5 years of competitive faceting I’ve earned 4 awards, self-taught from the beginning.
I take on cutting commissions for clients who have rough they trust me with. If you have a piece of material that deserves a real cut — something designed specifically for that stone rather than forced into a standard template — I’d love to talk about it. I’m comfortable with difficult material that most cutters won’t touch.
I also cut cabochons, and the shop carries hand-selected rough, slabs, turquoise, exotics, specimens, facet rough both natural and lab created, and downloadable faceting diagrams. Everything here is selected by someone who has held a lot of rock and knows what good material looks like.
